The core objective of my research program is the development of technology, design tools and methodologies, and human resources aiming at the creation of energyefficient technologies and sustainable biorefinery designs to produce added-value chemicals and advanced biofuels. An interdisciplinary combination of “Process Systems Engineering” tools with experiments focuses on the conversion of R&D technology efforts into process concepts and sustainable business opportunities for the sugarcane and forest industry.
