Helena Maia is a postdoctoral researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Architectures Hub (H.IAAC), University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. At H.IAAC, she works in the research line of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Her research topics include NLP for Portuguese, text generation, ethics in NLP, multimodal models. She also works with Computer Vision and Machine Learning in topics such as video-based human action recognition, video digital stabilization, image inpainting and depth estimation. Previously, she was a postdoc at Unicamp in a project entitled "Parallax: monocular depth estimation and region inpainting", funded by Samsung Eletrônica da Amazônia between 2020 and 2021. She holds a degree in Exact Sciences (2013), a degree in Computer Science (2015) and a master’s degree in Computer Science (2016) from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and PhD in Computer Science (2020) from the State University of Campinas, Brazil.
