My current research is about how the crisis of the Old Regime is a moment in which the economic and institutional debates leave the court halls for the streets. The impact of Liberalism and the dispute for public opinion will be the instrument of groups seeking to impose their projects on society. The Brazilian political and economic languages are gradually moving away from the LusoBrazilian tradition to the format of a new discourse of national character. Old dilemmas remain, but their justifications and criticisms are now based on new ideas and discourses. Through the critique of disseminated published periodicals, parliamentary discourses, and texts on economic theme, we can reconstitute the objectives and arguments of contemporary groups.
