Theory and Computational Modeling in Language Acquisition
My main interest is the elaboration and assessment of computational models of language acquisition. I am also interested in the development of tools for natural language processing, especially for syntactically annotated corpora (treebanks), in studies on grammatical theory (syntax and semantics) and on learnability theory. I am also a member of the Language Acquisition, Processing and Syntax Laboratory (LAPROSUNICAMP). Currently, I have been working on three main research topics:
• Studies on word acquisition as a problem of word-to-meaning mappings using cross-situational strategies;
• Evaluating the role of distributional information in the acquisition of word categories in Brazilian Portuguese;
• Compilation of a large corpus of acquisiti
