Waldir A. Bizzo é Professor Livre Docente da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, na Faculdade de Engenharia Mecânica. Tem doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Unicamp (1997) e realizou estágio pós-doutoral no CIRAD - Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement (Montpellier-França) no grupo de pesquisa Biomasse-Energie. Publicou mais de 40 artigos em periódicos especializados, 7 capítulos em livros e 46 trabalhos em anais de eventos. Orientou 28 dissertações de mestrado e 12 teses de doutorado nas áreas de Engenharia Mecânica, Engenharia de Processos e Engenharia Ambiental. Atua nas áreas de pesquisa de combustão de biomassa, pirólise rápida, aerodinâmica da combustão e formação de poluentes, geração de energia por biomassa, leito fluidizado.
