Abstract Lattes
Sandro Rigo received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, in 2004, for his work on the ArchC Architecture Description Language. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Computing at UNICAMP. Prof. Rigo served as the chair of the Computer Science B.Sc. program from 2009 to 2011, as the University's Information Technology and Communication Coordinator (20172019), and as Director of the Computing Centre (20172021). He has co-received best paper awards at the Symposium on Computer Architecture and High-Performance Computing (SBAC-PAD 2004), the Workshop on Computer Architecture and High-Performance Systems (WSCAD 2012), and the Brazilian Symposium for Information Security (SBSEG 2016). His current research interests include parallelization and acceleration of Machine Learning models in heterogeneous distributed systems, parallel programming models in HPC clusters, energy efficiency in computer systems, code generation and optimization, and exploring new architectures and accelerators for AI and HPC.
