Maróstica-Junior is undergraduated in Food Engineering (University of Campinas, 2002), PhD in Food Science (University of Campinas, 2006), PhD stay at Leibniz Universitât Hannover, Germany (2004) and Research stay at Lund University, Sweden (2009). Full Professor at University of Campinas, works with the biological role of bioactive compounds, including phenolic compounds, lipids and prebiotics. Specialist researcher at Centroflora, Anidro do Brasil (2006-2008). Received CAPES Award: Best PhD Thesis 2007 in Food Science. Has been ranked as highly cited author according to Clarivate and Elsevier (2023, 2024, 2025). Is associate Editor of Journal of Functional Foods and NPJ Science of Food. Received several awards including Innovation Award (2021), Zeferino Vaz Award (2024). Member of Choices International Foundation.
