2024 - 2025     Post-doctorate, Universidade Federal de São Carlos
José A. C. Delgado received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Havana (Cuba) under the supervision of Dr. Hilda E. Garay Pérez (Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Havana, Cuba) on the synthesis of chemically modified peptides derived from Interleukin-15 protein. In 2018, Mr. Delgado was awarded his M.Sc. degree under the supervision of Dr. Márcio W. Paixão (Federal University of São Carlos UFSCar, Brazil) on the multicomponent combinatorial synthesis of prolyl peptide-lipopeptide hybrid catalysts and their applications. Mr. José Delgado continued his Ph.D. studies under the supervision of Prof. Márcio W. Paixão at the Federal University of São Carlos developing new photocatalytic protocols for amino acid and peptide modifications. In the fall of 2021, he joined the research group of Prof. Burkhard König at the University of Regensburg (Germany) for a visiting PhD student stay. During his one-year period abroad, Mr. Delgado developed side-selective photocatalytic orthogonal arylations of peptides under solid-phase conditions. In April 2024, Mr. Delgado was awarded his Ph.D. degree on photochemical access to noncanonical amino acids and modified peptides.
