JOAO PAULO PITELLI MANOEL

Graduado em Física pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2004), possui mestrado (2008) e doutorado (2011) em Matemática Aplicada pela mesma instituição e obteve o título de Livre-Docente em Física-Matemática em 2020. Atualmente, é Professor Associado na Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Possui experiência em Física-Matemática, com ênfase em Relatividade Geral. Seus principais interesses de pesquisa incluem singularidades quânticas, teoria de campos em espaços-tempos curvos, cosmologia quântica e modelos análogos.

My research interests are related to quantum gravity. I am specially interested in four topics: the resolution of naked singularities through the study of waves in a singular classical background; vacuum fluctuations and the small scale structure of spacetime; quantum description of cosmology, in which the role of time is performed by a parameter related to the evolution of matter filling the universe; and topological defects and string theory. I am also interest in quantum mechanics on submanifolds embedded in Euclidean spacetime.
